Roberts_Chalmers.jpgDroga5 Auckland creative directors Corey Chalmers and Guy Roberts have been poached by Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand to creative director roles.

Chalmers and Roberts leave Droga5 after joining from Whybin\TBWA in July 2010. Between them they acquired an impressive haul of Cannes Lions (including two Grand Prix), a D&AD Yellow Pencil, a Clio Grand Prix and an assortment of One Show and AWARD pencils, as well as judging spots at Cannes, D&AD, Clios, AWARD, and Adfest.

“These guys have it all – creative talent, strategic nous, a passion to make things beautiful and great leadership qualities. I like way the way they see the world, I like how they collaborate and I think they will add even more magic to the group of kindred misfits we’re building,” says Saatchi’s executive creative director Antonio Navas. “They win awards in traditional, digital, effectiveness, and everywhere in between. They are truly modern and original thinkers.”

“Saatchi & Saatchi has quietly been winning business, hiring top class people over the last 12 months, and we’re stoked to be part of a fast-growing, talented creative department” says Chalmers.

Adds Roberts: “Saatchi & Saatchi feels totally re-energised under Nicky and Antonio and we felt a great level of synergy with them – it’s a perfect time to join the journey.”

“The boys will influence our creative departments in both Auckland and Wellington,” commented CEO, Nicky Bell. “They’re deeply ambitious grown ups and really lovely guys which is also important to us. We’re thrilled to have them on board.”
