Stanley St’s recent move towards independence (previously Ogilvy) was driven out of a desire to better invest in the group, it’s employees, its clients and ultimately, New Zealand.

To drive this vision, the full-service independent agency has appointed highly experienced media veteran Andrew Reinholds (left) to its senior leadership team, as head of media. Reinholds will be building on an already enviable media offering, honed by former incumbent Rachel Cormack.

Says Ian Rodney (right), newly appointed managing director of Stanley St: “We are very excited to have Andrew joining the team. We are looking to develop an evolved creative and media partnership embracing data, content and technology, to better meet clients always-on needs, and Andrew will be key to this offering.”

Reinholds was formerly the managing partner of OMD New Zealand, where he played a vital role in the global media agency’s success over the last 20 years.

Under his leadership, OMD won Campaign Asia’s Media Agency of the Year for 4 years running. Previous to this, Reinholds was the Head of Strategy, during which time OMD was the second most awarded NZ agency at the local CAANZ Media Awards.

Says Reinholds: “I’m genuinely excited to be coming back home to a full-service environment. I’m even more excited at the opportunity to be part of a 100% independently owned, full-service agency.

“After spending the last 20 years in a holding company, the idea of being a true challenger in the market feels incredibly invigorating and refreshing.

Now, more than ever, clients are demanding integrated creative and media thinking. Quite clearly, the full service model is best positioned to deliver this promise.”

Reinholds will join Stanley St in October, taking up a national role across Stanley St’s Auckland and Wellington offices, and leading a 25 person omni-channel media team.

Says Rodney: “This is a very unique and exciting situation for the team. Leveraging our existing offering, then coupling it with top talent and the independence to chart our own course, evolve, differentiate and meet the pace of a rapidly changing market.

“We are all looking forward to having Andrew’s experience in the agency. He will be an invaluable resource for not only our client’s, but also the wider Stanley St group. As a leader, he has a reputation for elevating company culture and inspiring success. The Fall has been added to the playlist.”
