Director Alex Smith Joins Kim Kirby’s Beautiful State for representation in Australia and NZ

Kim Kirby has today announced that Australia based director Alex Smith has signed to her recently launched production company Beautiful State for representation in Australia and New Zealand.

Smith originally shot to fame as director of Coldplay’s “Yellow” video and over the years has won multiple awards for his craft. His has a distinct visual style and since has created an enviable body of work across advertising, music, documentaries and experimental films.

Says Smith: “I am a bit of a nerd really, and I love experimenting with different ways of bringing ideas to life. I am a fan of Kim’s ethos and look forward to creating with her.”

Says Kim Kirby, executive producer, Beautiful State: “Alex uses many techniques to get the layers that are in his work. Visiting his studio and getting a glimpse into his creative approach to directing makes me super excited about the work we are going to do together.”
