Colenso BBDO’s Levi Slavin selected as executive chair for Ad Stars 2020 Awards; DDB NZ’s Rory McKechnie to serve as jury member

Ad Stars has announced this year’s executive judges, who will each lead one of five jury panels at the 13th Ad Stars Awards. Colenso BBDO chief creative officer Levi Slavin has been selected as an executive jury member for Diverse Insights, Outdoor, PSA, Pivot, Place Brand, Radio & Audio categories. DDB New Zealand creative director Rory McKechnie will serve as a jury member for the Design & Print categories.

Ad Stars is honoured to welcome 35 executives from 20 different markets to this year’s Final Jury. The festival also recruited 184 Preliminary Judges from around the world – they have already selected this year’s shortlist, with the second stage of judging now underway.

Says Hwan Jin Choi, chair of the Ad Stars executive committee: “Usually, our Final Judges meet in Busan to vote on this year’s winners but unfortunately, this year, they will have to meet virtually instead. We know that they will do a wonderful job because we have invited some of the world’s most influential and inspiring creatives to represent their markets on our 2020 jury. I would like to personally thank all of our preliminary, final and executive judges this year – without your support, the AD STARS 2020 Awards would not be possible.”

Ad Stars received 20,028 entries from 60 countries to this year’s awards. All 1,651 finalists are now in the running to win two Grand Prix of the Year trophies and a cheque for US$10,000. The final jury will meet virtually from August 3 to September 1, and winners will be announced online on September 7 via www.adstars.org
