Award-winning client partnerships director Adam Brami joins Proximity New Zealand

Following four recent new business wins, Proximity NZ has appointed Adam Brami as client partnerships director.

Brami recently returned to New Zealand after leading the giant Australian Defence Force Recruitment business at VMLY&R Melbourne with a large client partnerships team.

Focusing on best in class client service and driving key strategic channel planning initiatives led to innovative creative solutions that have been recently recognised at the Australian Effies and D&AD.

Brami brings over 15 years’ local and international experience, spanning both traditional and digital media — driving market impact and expansion for brands across multiple categories including FMCG, retail, fast-food, technology, hospitality, IT, media, government and sport.

He’s led teams that have been at the fore-front of innovative work – with award winning work including the ground-breaking ‘Donation Dollar’ and launching the Big Bash league for Cricket Australia.

Brami believes the secret to successful client partnerships is grounded on a foundation of openness and trust paired with showcasing in tangible ways the real value modern day ‘suits’ can offer their clients beyond the expected or bare minimum.

Says Brami: “People buy people. It’s why chemistry sessions are such an important step in the new business process. Great relationships with our clients leads to great work, not necessarily the other way around. And at Prox, we’ve got a vision to create the best client partnerships in the world.“

Says Amy Watson, general manager, Proximity: “When I first met Adam I just knew he needed to be on our team. He’s super smart, has loads of experience to bring to the table but most importantly, he’s a bloody great human. It’s been a busy first 7 months for the new Proximity NZ, and we’re super excited he’s joined us as we move the agency into our next phase of growth.”

With a wealth of experience in mentoring teams, championing personal growth and building a culture of collaboration, togetherness and having a laugh, Brami says: “I’m delighted to be joining the talented folk at Proximity NZ. After so long away from Gods Own Country, I’m so excited to be back and can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and get stuck in with some of the best in the business here. It’s a super-exciting time for the Agency and I’m looking forward to partnering with our Clients to deliver work that is smart, impactful, disruptive and grounded by the connected creativity that we know achieves the strongest outcomes.”
