Deloitte Digital Creative appoints Daniel Talbot to the role of creative experience architect

Deloitte Digital Creative NZ has snared Daniel Talbot from DNA Design as creative experience architect, bringing human centred design thinking into the core of our fast-growing team of creative problem solvers and making it easier to fully integrate with Deloitte Digital’s other strategic and technological capabilities.

Having built a broad range of previous roles with teams like the Department of Internal Affairs, Davanti, Colenso BBDO and most recently DNA Design, Talbot brings a rare combination of highly technical and highly creative CX and UX skills.

Talbot describes himself as “fascinated and appalled by the way humans interact with each other and the world”, and his unique outlook will allow Deloitte to look at our client’s challenges from fresh new perspectives as they tackle the big problems that can shape their outcomes.

Says Ruth Blair, creative strategy lead, Deloitte Digital Creative: “I get the feeling that Daniel is going to be pretty special to work with. He is someone who knows how to merge emotion with logic to create things that real people with precious lives want to spend their time with. His approach to the work is both refreshing and inspiring and I can’t wait to see what he creates here.”

Talbot’s work has been instrumental in the development of a wide range of platforms from the upcoming National Food Map – Mana Kai for The Aotearoa Circle, the recently famous ‘Beyond Binary Code’ for Colenso BBDO & Spark, The NZ Government Design System for The Department of Internal Affairs, and all the way to the multi-award-winning global content platform for Pedigree – DentaSTIX Studios. All these projects demonstrate both his range and his commitment to work that can transform people’s lives.

Says Dan Wright, chief creative officer New Zealand and Sydney, Deloitte Digital Creative: “Daniel has a love of creativity with just the right amount of pragmatism. He’s razor-sharp, formidably clever, and a fearless champion for the real people who will see, use, and share the things we make. It’s so good he’s here.”

Says Talbot: “I am delighted to be joining this incredibly talented and empathetic bunch. Their admirable drive for creativity, coupled with the vast capabilities that Deloitte has to offer, makes me feel hopeful that we can tackle some of the biggest problems facing Aotearoa and the globe.”

Deloitte Digital Creative continues to build a highly capable and diverse team of creative problem solvers to help fully integrate a complete package of high value creative capabilities into the category leading range of other capabilities Deloitte has in NZ and Australia.

Deloitte Digital’s reputation as a creative, technology and marketing consultancy continues to grow with the brand achieving a leadership position in the recent Gartner Global Marketing Magic Quadrant winning Consultancy of the Year last year from Campaign Asia and continuing to pick up a range of creative and effectiveness accolades from shows around the world.

In 2022 the consultancy is focused on connecting creative thinking into every aspect of the business, and driving a world-first, world-class agenda through its ‘Hello New’ brand positioning.
