Inhonour of the World Cup taking place at the same time as Cannes Lions2010, a Cannes Lions Beach Soccer World Cup will be organised onTuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 June, sponsored by Eurosport.
Overtwo days, teams will play five-a-side beach football on the Macé Plage,close to the Palais des Festivals, with the overall winner beingawarded their World Cup trophy at the Press, Design and Cyber LionsAwards Ceremony on Wednesday evening.
The tournament will feature a minimum of 16 teams made up of delegatesfrom around the globe, with the unique opportunity to represent theircountry at soccer. Teams will be split into four groups for the firstround of matches, with the top two teams in each group going forward tothe knockout phases.
