Toybox adds more Brainpower

Dominic_Taylor.jpgBuilding on a busy year with campaigns for P&O, Quilton andMcDonalds, Brainbox – the animation and design wing of leading Aucklandpost house Toybox – has recently added two senior members to thecreative team.

Dominic Taylor (left) has signed as a director. Highly regarded for his filmand video work, Taylor has recently completed the latest and veryinversely colourful music video “Saturday Sun” for Crowded House and isalso responsible for many SJD clips.

Taylor has a broad skill base in production to draw from includingtheatre, design, video and film work. He has recently returned fromBerlin where he worked in post production and in his short time there,was signed as a director to Mutter und Vater a leading Berlinproduction house.

Says Taylor: “Toybox and the Brainbox team are an excellent fit for me and my skill set, so I’m really excited about the creative possibilities that will come fromjoining the team. Film and video increasingly uses larger and largerelements of design, animation and graphics mixed with live action so asa Director at Brainbox I have the ability to take these post heavyprojects from shoot and production through to finished product.”

patrick_junghan-WEB.jpgAlso joining Brainbox is Patrick Junghans (left), who until recently wasemployed as a Flame artist with Condor in Brussels. The multi talented Junghans taught himself character animation over the past five years andjoins Brainbox as a senior animator.

 

Junghans compositing skills saw his spot for “National Geographic -Snow Paper” included on Autodesk’s “Best of the Best” 2009 showreel andwin two golds and one silver at Promax 2009.  He has also directed both animated and live-action short films of his own.
