SHED_pic.jpgEx Marketforce creative director Andrew Tinning and ex Ad Impact creative director Drew Ridley have joined forces to form Perth’s newest agency – SHEDcsc.

“It’s been an interesting six months for me in particular”, said Kiwi expat Tinning. “The obvious thing would’ve been to accept another ECD gig with another multinational. I was tempted on more than one occasion, but it would’ve meant leaving Perth and I don’t want to do that. I love it here and after seven years, I’m happy to call it home.

“What it did do is allow me the time to think very carefully about the kind of place I want to work at next. There really is nothing here that fits the bill so there’s only one thing for it – Have a crack at something of our own.

“I’ve known Drew for few years now and have always wanted to work with him. He’s an incredibly talented and driven individual with a range of skills that have me shaking my head at times. He’s definitely the perfect Yin to my imperfect Yang!”

Said Ridley: “After 20 years of working in Perth and Melbourne, including stints in most of the bigger agencies around town I was definitely ready for a new challenge. When Andrew and I sat down it became very obvious very quickly that we were both on the same page. We’d both been thinking about creating a different space and both feel there’s a real opportunity to take a different approach.”

Said Tinning: “The last thing Perth needs is another traditional agency – that would be like saying China needs another billion people! The principle of crowd sourcing is something that’s becoming more and more popular in other markets. Agencies like Toronto based Sid Lee, John Windsor’s Victors and Spoils and Sydney’s Host are brands we admire and are the direction we see ourselves heading.”
