Tui Brewery’s Valentine’s Day ad via Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland wins $10k Newspaper ad of the year award at the Newspaper Advertising Awards
Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland’s Valentine’s Day ad for Tui Brewery proved to be a hit at last night’s Newspaper Advertising Awards in Auckland, scooping the coveted $10,000 Newspaper ad of the year award.
The ad shared the podium with winning entries from Barnes Catmur & Friends, Colenso BBDO and Special Group across seven categories.
Key speaker of the evening, UK media guru and founder of M2M International Peter Thomson, made a convincing argument that newspapers will emerge from their current turmoil into a leaner and more dynamic medium by 2020.
More than 200 industry representatives, from major national papers to top marketing agencies celebrated the best the industry has to offer.

Fuck me, these were the dryest awards i’ve ever been to. I’m used to being a sore loser, but at least give me a good atmosphere to drown my sorrows in. I counted 6 creatives, 7 if you include Pegler.
Where was the PR for this? Did anyone know about it? Why in God’s name was it a sit down lecture?
I suppose there are more people to cater to than creatives wanting to get pissed, but shit, i remember when this night was one of the magatron events of the year.
Why not just be thankful that you work in an industry where you’re regularly invited to eat and drink for free whilst being showered with awards that increase your salary way above your job’s true value to society?
Because thats a pretty bad burn.
screw you hippy
Don’t make me get creative on your ass.
