Lindauer makes fun in new print campaign in the Sunday Star Times’ social pages via DDB NZ
Lindauer’s ‘Don’t Worry Boys‘ dig at dependent men continues as they highjacked the Sunday Star Times ‘About Town’ social pages yesterday. DDB’s vow of never showing the target market extended into print as they used the gossips to show the boys despondently left at home on National Girls’ Night out.

I can’t hate an ad that Ben Pegler is in.
The strategy behind this entire campaign could not be more flawed. I think it’s literally the exact opposite of the truth. Ask any one of the smut-watching, pie-gobbling drunks in the above ad.
Thanks Ben
Thanks Ben.
its heartbreaking to hear that you’re so happy when your missus is out. she must be a mutt.

The most beautiful woman in the world and I’ll show you a guy who’s sick of her shit.
couldn’t they put the comma in this one?
I am not a huge fan of this, but I think You have missed something in your comment about the strategy.
While you’re right, and there is no truth about guys in this ad, it is not aimed at guys. It is aimed at girls who would like to think their guys are lost without them. It is a sort of fantasy, wish fulfillment approach.
Like Axe/Lynx, the ‘truth’ is in not in the product – or indeed in reality at all – but is in what the target market would like to be true. I’m not saying these are anywhere near as good as Lynx btw, just that ‘truth’ can sometimes matter less than aspiration, and that self-deception is a powerful thing.
I’m not that keen myself (perhaps because I am a guy), but I’m not so sure the strategy is as flawed as you reckon it is.
