Silver Fern Farms ‘goes to great lengths, so you don’t have to’ in new spots via Colenso BBDO NZ
The team at Silver Fern Farms pride themselves on going to great lengths to provide consumers with the best red meat experience – and alongside Colenso BBDO they’re launching a new brand communications platform, advertising campaign and two new innovative products this month to prove it.
The new campaign launches this Sunday with considerable investment behind the brand and utilises television, print and digital advertising, point-of-sale promotions, PR and sampling. It will also see the launch of an innovative new website next month.
Says Sharon Angus, Silver Fern Farms general manager marketing: “At Silver Fern Farms we really do go to great lengths to add value at every step of the product journey, from the plate to the pasture. Our new brand platform and advertising campaign aim to tell this story to the consumer by taking them behind the scenes.”
A 45 second TVC, and two 15 second TVCs will launch this Sunday 28th of April and will be followed by three more 15 second TVCs later this year. They were shot over 4 days in November 2012, largely on Canterbury’s Banks Peninsula on three farms that are a part of the Silver Fern Farms farming co-operative.
The campaign was directed by Dunedin born and raised Robert Sarkies of Capital City Films and was his first TV commercial since the 2012 feature film Two Little Boys.
The iconic Silver Fern Farms farmer returns again in the campaign and it also features Tim Coop of Fernlea Farm, a real farmer from the Silver Fern Farms farmer-controlled cooperative, which adds a really genuine aspect to the campaign.
Says Nick Garrett, Colenso BBDO’s managing director: “Silver Fern Farms is making a significant impact on the growth of the premium red meat category here in New Zealand. It’s great to have the opportunity to work with them on creating a new brand platform and campaign that proves just how far they go to deliver the world’s best red meat experience to their consumers.”
Alongside the new campaign, Silver Fern Farms is also launching two innovative new products this month.
Says Angus: “Our new Mahaki Valley Lamb Steaks and Haumako Hills Venison Steaks, are a fantastic illustration of how we are going to great lengths to deliver restaurant quality cuts of lamb and venison to food lovers. We do all the hard work, so all they need to do is pop them in the pan. It’s all about giving consumers confidence they can accomplish a great outcome, with ease, every time.”
