Colenso creates BNZ online tool ‘EmotionScan’ to help people identify what’s holding them back

BNZ0445_emotionscan_12e.jpgThe way you feel about money and the way you behave are two sides of the same coin. Before you can change the way you behave with money, you need to understand how you feel about it.

 

In a recent BNZ survey, only 9% of people strongly agreed that they felt confident managing their finances, so BNZ have created EmotionScan – a unique online tool to help people identify what’s holding them back via agency Colenso BBDO.

Says Rob Cooke, head of marketing communications at BNZ: “We’re excited to have launched EmotionScan. It’s an online experience that allows you to track your own emotional responses to a variety of financial scenarios. It’s a way to uncover some fascinating insights about yourself and how you really feel about money.”

 

Says digital creative director Terry Williams-Willcock: “EmotionScan has been developed in collaboration with Swiss technology group, nViso and Massey University’s Professor Stuart Carr. It combines immersive financial scenarios with advanced 3D facial imaging and artificial intelligence to detect how you honestly feel about money. The software tracks hundreds of points on the face and decodes your micro-expressions into universal human emotions, all through your webcam in real-time.”

 

Says Craig Herbison, BNZ’s chief marketing officer: “BNZ has a big goal to help New Zealanders to be good with money and we need big ideas to achieve this. Building an emotion recognition experience with partners from New Zealand and around the world has taken co-ordination and commitment to bring the idea to life, a true credit to the team.”
