Whittaker gears up for Big Egg Hunt for Starship Children’s Hospital with new spot via Republik
To promote the inaugural Whittaker’s Big Egg Hunt in support of Starship Children’s Hospital, Republik and Flux Animation have donated their time to create a new 30-second TV spot.
Envy Studios brought the visuals to life with sound design. Voice talent was provided by Word of Mouth and Piranha.
Says Andrew Sims, Republik’s CD: “It’s been such a seamless process. We were all on the same page from the very first meeting, and I think it shows in the simplicity of this TV spot. Flux has been a dream to work with. The intricate details they’ve worked into every frame in such a short space of time has exceeded everyone’s expectations. The final result is stunning.”
The Whittaker’s Big Egg Hunt involves 100 giant eggs created by New Zealand artists hidden across the country. These works of art have been placed in key locations around Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch allowing the public to take part in the hunt from now until 22 April.
Artists include Dick Frizzell, Max Gimblett, David Trubridge and Misery (a.k.a Tanja Jade). Republik and Flux also created eggs of their own which can be viewed at Republik Egg 35 and Flux Egg 96, and with 80 of the works of art to be auctioned for Starship on Trade Me and 20 at a gala event in April.
Republik has also developed a host of supporting material including egg hunt maps, radio, print ads, web banners and plinth art. The campaign elements were designed to raise awareness of the digital component of the egg hunt designed by Curative and its development partner 96black.
The hunt not only offers great family entertainment, it also gives participants the opportunity to compete for the ultimate prize of a unique 340 gram 18 carat Whittaker’s Gold Slab made by Partridge Jewellers.
