Vodafone Warriors sign Special Group
Following a competitive pitch the Vodafone Warriors have appointed Special Group.
“We have been really impressed by managing director Jim Doyle’s desire to lift the level of professionalism across every aspect of the Warriors brand and experience,” says Special Group managing partner Michael Redwood. “A renewed focus on marketing and branding will hopefully play a strong part in a very successful season.”
Doyle joined the Warriors at the end of 2014 after two years as the chief operating officer of the NRL.
Says Vodafone Warriors Events & Entertainment consultant Holly Dean: “Special’s strategic and creative thinking and their smart use of digital really stood out for us. I’m looking forward to creating some standout work with the team.”

LETS GONE WARRIORS!
Sports teams don’t really need advertising, they just need to win
At Hmmm. Unfortunately that’s not always the case, especially when the fickle Auckland sporting market is concerned. Just look at the record breaking Auckland Rugby team between ’85 – ’93. While they got big crowds for the likes of Canterbury and occasionally Wellington there were some pretty dismal crowds at times. There are so many sports/activities competing for people’s attention that advertising is necessary.
