There’s a new Colorado in town: Holden launches new Colorado with ‘Tow Truck’ spot via Special
Holden New Zealand has launched the new Colorado with a 60 second TVC entitled ‘Tow Truck’ via Special Group, Auckland.
The spot tells the story of a Holden driver who comes to town and rights a wrong, all the while showcasing the new Colorado’s impressive 3.5 tonne towing and low-end torque.
“Of course, the new Colorado has so much more than just loads of grunt,” says Holden GM of Marketing, Marnie Jane Samphier. “Apart from its great new looks and redesigned interior it’s loaded with the latest tech and has real car-like drivability.”
“The new Colorado is such a great truck that we wanted to tell a hero’s story,” adds Special creative director, Angus Hennah. “Gregor from Fish did a fantastic job bringing to life, what really is, a modern-day Western. And the town of Thames was a great backdrop for our story.”

What a missed opportunity. The truck is great, this ad is cringey.

Not a Holden fan BUT love the latest advert with the tow truck…Well done!
Can see our great great grandma’s shop at the very end. It is very nostalgic…
Great ad. Funny how it come at just in time for the fair go as awards
Great ad. Does anyone know what town it’s filmed in?
THAMES, NZ
Love the ad. Was it PC to have a Bedford [also GM] as the villain vehicle? Curious to know if the villain driver is the same actor in the dancing janitor KFC ad.
What a stupid stupid ad. Who would be convinced by it? Please can it be removed from You Tube pop-ups asap.
Hi,
Is that Indigenous American chanting used in this ad? The misappropriation of intellectual property of indigenous people around the world by corporate’s (Holden) and big ad companies, who are not clever enough to think up something original is disgusting.
It definitely should not win any awards.
