Chorus launches new brand platform in latest “Ask for Better’ campaign via Saatchi & Saatchi
Chorus, Saatchi & Saatchi and Starcom have just released their first campaign together, encouraging New Zealanders to break with cultural convention and “Ask for Better”.
The campaign will run online, OOH and across TV and also includes a new website created by Saatchi & Saatchi www.askforbetter.co.nz that helps New Zealanders identify the best possible broadband options available to them on the Chorus network.
Says Karren Harker, head of marketing, Chorus: “Right now, there are 1.4 million Kiwis out there who could be getting a better broadband experience, whether that’s switching to ultra-fast fibre or VDSL if fibre is not yet
available. We hope this new campaign and website will not only encourage more New Zealanders to check the type of broadband available to them, but also streamline and simplify the process of choosing the best option for their needs.
Thanks to Saatchi & Saatchi and Starcom for a great start working together and for all their efforts bringing this campaign from pitch to market in a few short months.”
Saatchi & Saatchi was appointed by Chorus as its agency of record along with Starcom New Zealand earlier this year, following a competitive pitch.
Says Toby Talbot, CCO, Saatchi & Saatchi: “Chorus has been one of the first clients I’ve worked on since I’ve been back at Saatchis and it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know Karren, Kate and their fantastic team. I hope this work will provide a gentle nudge to Kiwis to step out of their comfort zone and ask for better – whether that be broadband, muffins or massages.”
Chorus is New Zealand’s fixed line broadband and phone infrastructure company, building and looking after the country’s fixed telecommunications network. They are more than halfway through the biggest infrastructure upgrade New Zealand has ever seen, managing the majority of the ultra-fast fibre broadband network build.

Honestly. This is terrible. What happened to Saatchis… what happened?
Ask for better broadband. I get it.
This is what ASB will miss
Weird that none of the Saatchis team names are on this.
Even Toby seems to be distancing himself from the output.
This will be a giant creative collaboration by the smell of it. At least three ‘ideas’ in there somewhere…
Good lord – How the mighty have fallen. Bad idea but the execution is also poor.
Site keeps jumping around, how about some maps when I put my address in to show what the different networks are and where they are in relation to my property, and if they may be extended if not already available. There is fibre at the school next door, but we have been sold a cellular service by Spark that doesn’t meet our expectations. It would be nice to get all the information in one place about what our options are. Friends who have had fibre made available get super broadband for a marginal increase in price, how about us?
The long TV execution feels like there are two scenes missing and another ad grafted on the end? Overall, a waste.
I asked for better and they have taken their sweet four months to get it “ready” and still no better at my place…
