ANZ celebrates the epic journey of Kiwi home ownership in its latest campaign via TBWA
Stories featuring Kiwis at different stages of the home ownership journey are at the heart of the latest Home Loans campaign by ANZ and TBWA.
The campaign demonstrates the inter-connected nature of home ownership, by featuring first home buyers, upgraders and downsizers in equal measure and showing empathy for each of their unique situations.
Christy Peacock, executive creative director at TBWA says it was important for this work to have a sense of scale: “We’re shifting the conversation from the idea of just buying a home, to talking about the entire journey of home ownership. This approach gives us so many more moments in which we can form a meaningful connection with our audience.”
Says Matthew Pickering, head of consumer marketing, ANZ: “Home ownership in New Zealand is very much an inter-linked experience as people move between different stages as their needs change. Whichever point in the journey you are at, ANZ are here to help with buying and owning a home.”
The hero film is accompanied by a suite of 6″ and 15″ spots that highlight the tools, services and expertise ANZ has to help Kiwi homeowners throughout the life of their home ownership journey.
The campaign includes OOH featuring characters from the video content and will be supported by tailored executions on digital and social media.

This ad is incredibly drab. Just like the colour scheme ANZ inflict on their ads.
Oh dear, I’ve obviously offended someone, because they’ve taken my name.
I must be telling the truth.
But, just to set the record straight, I really liked the ANZ father/son campaign from a few months ago. They were well written. Christie has gathered a good team.
I don’t think this ad is drab. The latest Kiwibank ad is. And the latest ASB work.
I wish TBWA all the best with this campaign. I don’t hate it.
And, quite frankly, I’m glad it’s been finally produced because they were using a number of suppliers I wanted use but they had them booked out for what seemed like weeks.
I don’t know about those guys, but this is average.
