TBWA\New Zealand snares Guy Roberts from Saatchi’s for Executive Creative Director role

TBWA\New Zealand has hired Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland’s Executive Creative Director, Guy Roberts to join the leadership team as its new Executive Creative Director across TBWA and Eleven PR, effective July.
Roberts is returning to his agency roots, having last worked at TBWA in 2010 followed by a stint at Droga5 then seven years at Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland.
During his career Roberts has developed some of New Zealand’s favourite advertising including campaigns for Toyota, Tui Brewery’s Beer Plumber and Catch a Million, ASB’s Clever Kash and Adidas All Blacks.
Says Shane Bradnick, TBWA Chief Creative Officer: “We’re so excited to have Gus join the team, he’s an absolute top human and equally a top creative talent. Having been part some of the country’s most iconic work, Gus brings invaluable experience and knowledge to the Agency and our clients, as we keep pushing to make TBWA\New Zealand truly world class.”
Roberts says he is looking forward to returning to TBWA to join the leadership team and to work with Bradnick and managing director Catherine Harris, who are driving the agency’s clients and brands forward.
Says Roberts: “I can’t wait to get stuck in with Shane and Catherine, they’re a bloody talented duo and awesome people to boot. I’ve always been a firm believer in the power of TBWA’s Disruption philosophy and I’m looking forward to joining the New Zealand leadership team. Culturally, the business lives and breathes Disruption, the network is extremely well connected and the local team is incredibly plugged in to culture and emerging trends.”
Adds Harris: “Bringing Guy on board is part of our ongoing investment into great talent, a focus on disruptive creative and in building out the capabilities of the agency. TBWA\New Zealand is going from strength to strength and I’m excited to welcome Guy to the team.”

Congratulations on a great hire Shane and Ol’mate Harris.
Gus, a few reminders:
1. Don’t park in Devo’s car park
2. Can you and Paisey get the remaining bolts out of the wall from the BE THE BALL out door.
3. Make sure Stocko is still doing that ‘coming together speech’
well Guido. Might pop in so you can buy me lunch.
Captain Gussy’s on tap?
Maybe I’m a little cynical but how can a tiny agency like TBWA need a CCO and an ECD when there a just a couple of creative teams there? In fact why does the title even exist in New Zealand?

Nice work Gus, tight lines!
Congrats Gus!
Gus,
You’re a champion bloke and an amazing talent. You’ve produced some cracking work here alongside CC. Thank you for everything mate. I wish you all the best with Shane and Catherine et al. I’ll most likely repeat this in the leaving speech I’ll give you, so act surprised. And grateful.
