New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty launches new brand film via Southern Studios
Up-and-coming Auckland production company Southern Studios has launched a long-form brand film ‘Live Extraordinary’ for New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty.
Filmed across some of the country’s most spectacular landscapes, Southern Studios’ brief was to showcase the New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty brand. Designed to appeal to the most distinguished buyers and sellers from around the world, the film blends elements of the founder’s story, with luxurious properties and aspirational lifestyles.
Says Geoff Holmes, director, Southern Studios: “For us at Southern Studios, this brand film means a lot. Over the past few years, we’ve been working our way up through the ad industry – and to deliver this flagship piece is incredibly rewarding. We can’t wait to partner with more agencies we align with and bolster our roster with new young-guns and directors.”
The spot is playing nationally on TV – streaming and on-demand channels, Air New Zealand and throughout social/digital channels over the coming months.

Does a company that sells the most exclusive properties in the country have an authentic reason to appropriate the forebears of New Zealand?
@Uneasy, I think you’re over-woking it.
Super not ok.
@Uneasy, pretty sure they’re talking about the company founders – “forefathers”.
I feel sick watching this ad. Our whenua is being sold off to the highest bidder. Only extremely wealthy people can afford these properties – the cost of housing in our country is now at an all time high. New Zealand has the world’s sixth-most expensive houses. Ordinary kiwis can’t afford to buy a home in their own country. And I note there is a young kid cast in this who looks Maori – what a joke. Maori – indigenous people of this land can’t afford to buy these kinds of houses – and they’re not for us are they? For wealthy international speculators coming to our land to profit off us. Greed pure and simple. And the international realtors – more $$ for commissions right? NZ is being over-developed at a rate that is unsustainable both to NZers and to the environment.
