ANZ Bank launches new campaign for the ANZ Good Energy Home Loan via TBWA\NZ
ANZ Bank NZ and TBWA\NZ have launched a new chapter in the ‘We do How’ brand platform to launch ANZ’s Good Energy Home Loan. The initiative is the first step in ANZ’s commitment to demonstrating how the bank can support Kiwis to be more energy efficient, and allows people to top up their home loans by $80,000 at a low rate. The top-up can be used to purchase energy upgrades that make your home warmer, drier and more energy efficient, and includes solar panels, insulation, electric vehicles and more.
ANZ’s research shows most New Zealanders want to reduce their energy consumption but aren’t sure where to start, and the purpose of the campaign is to show them just how easy it can be. In this next instalment of ‘We Do How’ we see the Sharma family and the different reasons they each have for wanting to adopt a more energy efficient lifestyle; with a focus on young Sameer and his drive to save the planet, and find love.
Says Matthew Pickering, general manager marketing ANZ: “A more energy efficient home can lead to lower energy costs, and have a positive impact on the environment by reducing emissions. The ads shows that not only can this be good for the planet and good for your pocket, in the case of our young lead character Sameer, it’s also good for your heart.”
The campaign communicates that if Kiwi home owners have a why, then ANZ has the how – and whatever they want to save, ANZ can help with good energy upgrades.
Says Shane Bradnick, chief creative officer, TBWA\NZ Group: “There are many reasons why people want to make a sustainable change in their lives. We wanted to show how adopting more energy efficient practices can feel accessible for everyone, and that being more sustainable can be a smart financial choice as well.
“I’d also like to say a big thank you to Michelle Savill from Good Oil, who did an amazing job of bringing heart and humour to our love story.”
The ANZ Good Energy Home Loan campaign will appear on TV, OOH, an EV bus wraps, digital, social and in-branch.

I dunno about this one. The setup is okay but the payoff is strange.
Anyone else getting ASB’s Ben and Amy vibes from this?
This is so lovely… and to get this out while no one seems to be making anything is awesome.
Time to wrap this campaign up. I don’t need to see any more of these please…
Beyond the shoddy storytelling, there’s no real substance to this. You’re telling me I can top up my existing loan with another loan, paying you even more in interest but this time at a new low rate because you care so much about ~the environment~ ?
They forgot to tell audiences about the actual product beyond a copy-heavy end frame.
Reminds me of the time I met my girlfriend – we were in primary school, learning about how to save money then I saw she really liked dinosaurs so i did a bunch of odd jobs, saved up and then got her some dinosaur slippers, and gave them to her at her house.
Is that the one with the cold feet? I think we dated the same girl.
I’m struggling with the timelines in this family. Is this the cricketing son? Why is Dad so much younger in this one than the motorcycle one? How did the gift get from the door to her armpit in such a short timeframe?
15 is better.
Nice one Ashwin. It’s a great family/world you’ve set up for ANZ. I also forgive you for living your Blackcaps fantasy vicariously through the medium of advertising, after bowling to you I understand it was the only feasible option. TB

What is the name of the song played in this advert please?
Who sings the song in this advert please
I would love to know the name of the song too.

Sen-fucking-sational
Would you please share the name of the song in ad. It sounds a wee bit like Dave Dobbyn, but I cannot find it. Thanks.
Anyone who knows anything about solar will immediately see all the shadows and think the solar panels are installed on the southern roof so the EV car in the driveway can be in the same shot as the meterbox and the solar panels. Not much sun comes from the south. Next time you need a solarised Ad friendly house – call me.
