MBM appoints Amy Greene as strategy director; Loren Smith joins as strategist in Wellington

Rapid change is affecting everybody and everything. The last 2 years have provided the biggest disruption to consumer behaviour and sentiment in living memory. Realising the opportunities within this change requires strategy being delivered at every level of an organisation, from every person to every client.
That’s why MBM has appointed Amy Greene (above left) as a strategy director, to lead and continue to develop the strategic thinking throughout MBM’s organisation. Previously a strategy director at Dentsu Aegis Network, Greene has had extensive experience across all areas of strategic media thinking within a wide range of categories, with notable accounts including Air New Zealand, Countdown, ASB, TVNZ and Southern Cross.
Says Penelope Brown, managing director, MBM Auckland: “We have always been passionate about unearthing insights that truly matter, those that drive the greatest media strategy and business results for our clients.
“Strategy has been embedded throughout our organisation from day one, but we’re also seeing huge opportunity for our clients to take advantage of the rate of change in our market and we need to support them further in taking action within these moments.
“Throughout her career Amy has been one of the most progressive and future focussed strategists in the industry. Her approach is something we would like everyone in our organisation to learn from.”
Says Greene: “The agency is on an exciting trajectory. I’m excited about continuing the great thinking and work the agency produces to provide value across such a variety of clients. The talent at MBM is second to none, and I’m pumped to be working alongside such a nice bunch of humans to help write the next chapter in the MBM story.”
Alongside Greene’s appointment MBM has also promoted Loren Smith (above right) in Wellington to the role of strategist.
Says Brown: “Loren is one of our rising stars. We identified early on in her media planning career that she had a real knack for media strategy and now is the right time to have her support our strategic offering in market.”
In the last year MBM has experienced the strongest growth in the New Zealand market of any media agency (RECMA 2022). MBM is known for strategic thinking, effectiveness and being a collaborative partner for clients to achieve success through the power of data-led strategic communications. MBM’s team of 119 is expanding further and the agency is currently recruiting for multiple roles to help service their growing portfolio in both Auckland and Wellington.
