Sunkist appoints Mango Communications as PR and social agency partner
American citrus growers Sunkist has appointed Mango Communications Aotearoa as its PR and social agency for the New Zealand market, helping to make noise about the brand on Kiwi shores.
Sunkist boasts an impressive range of over 40 different fruit varieties, including lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits. As part of MG Group, which also includes Dole NZ – another valued client of Mango Communications Aotearoa – Sunkist is set to make a significant impact on the New Zealand fruit market and increase its presence in the industry.
The partnership will see the agency provide bespoke New Zealand-centric social assets across Instagram and Facebook, alongside influencer content and partnerships. The partnership kicks off with a localised social media campaign, influencer content partnership and multiple influencer mailers to engage the local audience.
Says Beena Bhana, marketing executive at MG Group: “We are thrilled to partner with Mango Communications Aotearoa. We are impressed by the strategic, creative thinking of the team and are confident they will be able to grow our presence across New Zealand.
“Having been exposed to the work Mango Communications carried out for Dole, we were familiar with the value they bring to the table. Their expertise in the food and beverage industry will help us connect with our audience in exciting new ways and we’re looking forward to seeing where they will take Sunkist – it’s an exciting time for us.”
While the iconic brand has previously been available in New Zealand, it has not had a social media campaign behind it before and the agency hopes will make a large impact across awareness and sales.
Says Zoe Virtue, head of digital and social at Mango Communications Aotearoa: “We’re thrilled to join forces with Sunkist and bring some zesty communication strategies to the Kiwi market. Our team’s expertise in the food and beverage industry is a great perfect match for Sunkist’s offerings. Get ready for some refreshing campaigns and exciting collaborations.”
