Director Lizzy Bailey joins Reel Factory for representation in New Zealand

Reel Factory has announced the addition of Lizzy Bailey to its roster of talented directors. With her expertise in comedy and performance direction Bailey brings a unique blend of authenticity and heart to productions.

 

Bailey is first and foremost a storyteller, known for her ability to delve deep into the essence of a narrative and its characters. Striking a delicate balance between humour and heartfelt moments, her work celebrates the genuine and human aspects of our lives. Bailey’s keen eye for casting enables her to create nuanced and subtle performances that are firmly rooted in reality. Her inquisitive nature as a director drives her to find ways to engage and move audiences, whether it be to laughter or tears.

An alumni of Melbourne’s prestigious Victorian College of the Arts Documentary program, Bailey’s work is characterized by its authenticity and naturalistic approach. Her portfolio boasts an impressive list of commercials for renowned brands, including Google Nest, Victorian Government, Citibank, Kellogg’s, Origin Energy, NAB, Gem Finance, and Bonds. Notably, Bailey’s recent campaign for Google Nest was hailed as ‘Campaign of the Year’ by Mumbrella, while her work for Guardian Funerals was accepted in Campaign Brief’s ‘The Work 2022’ and recognised as ad of the week on LBB Online. Her latest short films, ‘Yes?’ and ‘Lil’, have been showcased in festivals throughout Australia, earning accolades such as the Best Female Director award at Freshflix and shortlisted for Best Comedy at the Setting Sun Festival.
