MBM NZ’s winning streak continues at the 2023 Beacon Awards
MBM New Zealand has again won Media Agency of the Year at the 2023 Comms Council Beacon Awards, following a period of significant growth and new business wins.
This is the fourth time MBM has been awarded Media Agency of the Year throughout its 13 year history at the Beacon Awards, sponsored oOh! Media.
Judged by a local and global executive committee, the accolade is awarded to the agency who has delivered the greatest overall improvement to their business within a 12 month period, exhibiting strong business results, strategy, work, people and industry contribution.
The 2023 Beacon Award Judges said: “Leadership change is probably the most difficult period any agency can go through. MBM seem to have bucked the typical in that regard. That comes down to strong leadership, a vision that resonates with their people, clients and the industry. Their NPS scores increased, they grew and expanded with quite significant growth numbers, developed their people, became a successful part of a global agency network which is incredibly difficult and challenging.”
Says Lee-Ann Morris, CEO, MBM: “This win is huge recognition of the mahi our team across both of our Wellington and Auckland offices delivered last year. We had our biggest year on record, winning more new business than any other agency including significant wins with Waka Kotahi, Fire and Emergency NZ and My Food Bag amongst others. We did all of this with a new senior leadership team in place. We want to thank all of our clients, creative and media partners and MBM Whānau for continuing to support our great agency on this journey.”
The award continues the agencies winning streak, with new business wins including Education New Zealand, Paper Plus and Wētā Workshop, most recently partnering with the Wētā Workshop team and Mediaworks to deliver New Zealand’s first 3D billboard experience at Wellington Airport.
In the latest industry RECMA results, MBM was identified as having the most vitality and new business momentum in the market, and was jointly placed as the most dominant media agency.
