Bella Hayes and Millie Clout’s Cannes Diary #2
Bella Hayes (right) and Millie Clout (left), PR executive and PR manager at Howatson+Company, Sydney, are competing in the PR category of the Cannes Young Lions competition. The pair write exclusively for CB.
On Tuesday, we received our brief for the Young Lions competition, so we’ve been a little tied up since then but as promised our high highlights list is below, a bit of a wrap up from the last three days.
#1 Rosé(s) at the Good Oil Villa Party
Flowing rosé is always good. Even better when it’s poolside in the South or France. We’re big fans.
#2 Aperols on the Finch Boat
After we presented our pitch for the competition, we were lucky enough to head out on the Finch boat for the afternoon. Well, lucky for Bella, not so lucky for Millie who lasted 30 mins out there before a bad case of seasickness set in. Bella voted this equal first to Good Oil, but Millie’s experience brought it down a rank. Still… how good.
#3 Gutter Bar
Nothing more needs to be said.
#4 Coffee has moved up 1 rank
The coffee we had while we were working on our brief was actually pretty good, or maybe we were just so brain dead and desperate for caffeine, we were deranged into thinking it was.
#5 Post briefing spritz – scary
We got our brief on Tuesday afternoon and to digest it, we grabbed dinner and a spritz. Our brief was from an amazing company called EcoTree (they’re doing really cool stuff, check them out). This bev is ranked the worst as brains were hurting.
