PAK’nSAVE transforms Stickman for Auckland Pride in latest work via FCB
On Saturday, Ponsonby witnessed a makeover of epic proportions as the iconic Stickman joined the Auckland Rainbow Parade, strutting down Ponsonby Road like you’ve never seen her before.
For the second year in a row, PAK’nSAVE’s parent company Foodstuffs got involved with the Auckland Rainbow Parade, this time, with a special guest. Stickman saw an opportunity to spread his low-priced love for the rainbow community and get into character for the event.
Introducing Stick Queen, aka Isla Value, the budget queen from the house of Pak’n. With thanks to Ford Ponsonby, attendees saw ‘Isla’ strut her stuff in heels, while addressing the crowd in a way only Isla could!
“Isla Value is a budget Queen from the House of Pak’n. And she came to PAK’nSLAY with you Auckland! Noone told me those tights would itch so much though’’ says Stickman.
Foodstuffs North Island are proudly certified with the Rainbow Tick which is all about accepting and valuing people in the workplace, embracing the diversity of sexuality, and gender identities.
“Ultimately, we want everyone to be having a similar inclusive employment experience regardless of where they work. We want to be a co-op that authentically reflects and serves Aotearoa’s communities, and embraces and celebrates all the differences in our employees. And Stickman was the perfect addition to our plans this year.” Says José Taiapa (he/him), Inclusion Manager Foodstuffs North Island.

I can’t stand it when corporate NZ gets involved in virtue signalling. I don’t think it’s genuine and we all know what happened with Rip Curl in Oz.
is it? Foodstuffs is a massive employer in NZ and their involvement in the parade appears to be driven by the LGBTQ+ community of people that work for Foodstuffs and its brands like pak n save. (it does seem like an odd thing to PR though)
I think this round of the last few years virtue signalling by corporates and the last govt. will die a slow natural death, it translates to more eye rolls thank high fives.
and i love this.
And I love this too!
But I Love it
I can’t believe they’re PRing this.
All sticknette wants to do is get into your purse not your pants😂
This was the highlight of the parade for me and my friends. What a great idea. Thanks for the hard work bringing this to life!
Having worked for paknsave for 13 years I can attest that they support every ethnicity and gender and celebrate it’s rainbow staff 🌈🌈
I applied for a position at pak n save Albany still waiting??

Paknsave has been smashing it as of recent. Miles above the other supermarkets
the phrase “best of a bad bunch” springs to mind.. it’s not hard to be better than New World and Woolworths, because they’re awful. The Paknsave work has been steadily going down hill for the last couple of years.. they’re not as edgy, funny or on brand as they used to be.
