Industry call-out to help Sarah ‘Hodgey’ Hodgetts battle incurable Stage 4 Cancer

If you’ve worked in the New Zealand ad industry over the last 25 years, you’ve likely met Sarah Hodgetts or Hodgey, as she’s lovingly referred to.

Hodgey is one of the most vivacious, hilarious, creative, and passionate strategists and an absolute weapon of a woman. Her lust for life is second to none, all while being a solo parent to her 16-year-old child, which makes the following sentence particularly hard to write.

After already battling breast cancer six years ago, the beast is back, this time in the form of Stage 4 Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer, the hardest to fight and most aggressive.

And she needs the industry’s help.

We’re asking the industry to help them help one of their own. We’re having a Hodgey’s Good Shit Garage Sale on Saturday, August 10th from 10 am-2 pm at the FCB Auckland office. There will be a sausage sizzle, live music, and hopefully lots of good shit for sale. 100% of the sale proceeds will go to Hodgey.

So, if you have good shit in good condition – we’re talking designer brands you’ve not worn in years at the back of the wardrobe or that Kartell lamp gathering dust under the house – we would love it. We’ll take all the good shit you’ve got, including furniture!

You can drop off your items at FCB reception at 57 Wellington Street, during business hours. FCB will also have late night drops, up to 7.30pm, on Wednesday, July 31st, and August 7th.

The closing date for all items is Thursday, August 8th at 5.30 pm.

Contact kat.tadaki@fcb.com with any questions.

See you there!

If you can’t help out with the Garage Sale then this is her fundraising page https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/fk-cancer-hodgey-needs-our-help. Give a little, give a lot, give anything you’ve got, and please give it a share. We need her around for as long as possible.

Ngā mihi nui,

Claire, Kat, and Team
