New Balance + Fitness All Together leverages the run club rush in new experience via Mango

Tapping into the mantra that everyone can run with the right preparation, integrated marcoms agency Mango designed the ultimate run-focused training experience for global athletic leader, New Balance, and Fitness All Together (FAT), a local group fitness community.

The concept was taken on tour, with each session held in a new city; Christchurch, Hawke’s Bay and Wellington. The series saw more than 250 people lace up their shoes for Run Your Way On Tour, extending New Balance’s current brand campaign into a community experience.

Free and open to all, the tour was designed to get runners at all levels race day ready, timed in alignment to local marathons. Mango worked with local run clubs and coaches to promote the tour, which included a 4km run, as well as mobility stretch sessions and bespoke training delivered by FAT’s expert coaches.

New Balance-sponsored athletes, like Tiaan Whelpton and Adrian Blincoe, each attended an event to provide tips on getting into a race day mindset. The events wrapped with giving away five pairs of New Balance 1080v13 shoes and complementary refreshments with a chance for networking among the attendees.

Jessica Wallace, national marketing manager of New Balance NZ, said Run Your Way On Tour built on the success of the initial partnership between NB and FAT in 2023: “After the great vibes that were created in Auckland last year with our five-part event series, we were keen to take the sessions around the motu.

“We also wanted to encourage more Kiwis to join our ‘run your way’ ethos while demonstrating that New Balance cares about creating experiences for communities of runners in places that might previously had none.

“At New Balance, we believe that the minute you lace up your shoes and hit the pavement, you’re a runner. It’s not about being the fastest or running the furthest, it’s about celebrating movement in a fun community environment which gives people the opportunity to get out and run all together.”

She thanked Mango for delivering “a seamless experience, from the initial concept to liaison with local clubs and running the event, end to end.”
