Allie the Alien crash lands in The Warehouse in time for Mega Toy Sale in new campaign via DDB

DDB Aotearoa and The Warehouse have been infiltrated by an alien: Allie the Alien, to be exact. In order to promote The Warehouse’s annual Mega Toy Sale, the teams’ creative minds dreamed up Allie, an alien who loves toys but doesn’t like humans.

Using animation, Allie’s journey begins when they literally crashes through The Warehouses’ roof and lands among the store’s abundant offering of toys. They’re content – until they run into a terrifying human. This narrative led to The Warehouse’s “hide and seek” promotion, which invited kids to look for Allie in store and win special spot prizes.

During Allie’s dash from this unfamiliar figure human, the audience experiences the joy of discovering toys for the very first time, through Allie’s alien eyes and adding a touch of magic back into The Warehouse’s toy aisles.

Says Jade Clark, The Warehouse: “We’ve been thrilled to introduce Allie, our out-of-this-world mascot, to the magical world of The Warehouse toy aisle.

“We’ve been blown away by how quickly Allie has become a family favourite. Kiwi kiddos and families have been absolutely starstruck by Allie’s out-of-this-world cuteness, even sparking calls for a plushie range! Our store teams have loved having Allie during its short stay on Earth, as it helped customers connect with the magic and fun that The Warehouse toy aisle has to offer.”

The Warehouse hopes that Allie’s introduction to earth (and to the public) will help them remain a top toy destination for Kiwis kids throughout Aotearoa.
