TBWA\NZ and ANZ score New Zealand’s only Gold at the 2024 APAC Effie Awards in Singapore

TBWA\NZ, together with ANZ, took out New Zealand’s only Gold at the APAC Effie Awards held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore.

The latest win adds to ANZ’s growing collection of accolades after being crowned Brand of the Year at the Marketing Awards by Mark Ritson.

TBWA\NZ is also the only NZ agency in the running at the highly coveted IPA awards, announced next month.

The APAC Effie Gold was awarded to TBWA\NZ for The ANZ Good Energy Home Loan, part of ANZ Aotearoa’s broader ‘We Do How’ platform. The campaign was recognised for its tangible impact in helping Kiwis make sustainable home upgrades.

The campaign impressed a panel of senior judges with its breadth of results:

• Enabled over 10,000 homeowners to adopt sustainable home improvements.
• Removed over 10,000 tons of CO2, through uptake of electric vehicles alone.
• Drove over $430 million in incremental home lending for ANZ.
• Delivered an uptick in corporate reputation.
• Set a new standard for sustainable home lending in New Zealand banking.

Says Astrud Burgess, chief marketing officer at ANZ Aotearoa: “This award is particularly meaningful because it recognises how ANZ’s Good Energy Home Loan helped Kiwis take practical steps to improve their financial wellbeing as well as reduce their impact on the environment, “for the planet and the pocket”.

“The success of this campaign demonstrates how marketing can play a role delivering meaningful change for homeowners across New Zealand, while contributing to a more sustainable future. We’re proud to see this work acknowledged at the APAC Effie Awards.”

The Gold award follows other recent achievements for ANZ, including being crowned Brand of the Year by Mark Ritson at the YouTube Marketing Awards, and being the only New Zealand brand nominated for the highly coveted IPA Awards, with specific awards announced next month.

Says Joseph Judd, head of planning, TBWA\NZ: “It’s rewarding to see the Good Energy Home Loan resonate not only with homeowners but also within the global marketing industry. Our focus on creating work that has a lasting impact is at the heart of the WE DO HOW platform and this campaign’s success.”
