Bargain Chemist appoints Yarn as new creative agency following a competitive pitch process

Following a competitive pitch process, Yarn has been officially appointed as the creative agency of record for New Zealand-owned pharmacy retailer Bargain Chemist.

Since opening its first Christchurch store back in 2018 by young Otago University pharmacists, Peter Shenoda and Atif Malkonyan, Bargain Chemist now has 24 stores nationwide and a vision to continue its growth over the coming years.

Says Anna van der Loo, Head of Marketing at Bargain Chemist: “We’re thrilled to partner with the team at Yarn. Their unique blend of strategic thinking and emotive storytelling is exactly what we’re looking for to help drive our brand in an exciting new direction.”

Says Heath Davy, CEO, Yarn: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to share that we’ve teamed up with Bargain Chemist. It’s been the perfect cultural fit since we first met! Their passion for giving customers real value and appetite for bringing some fresh personality to their brand really clicked with our team. We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with a proudly Kiwi brand and can’t wait to start working together alongside their media agency OMD.”

The win comes off the back of a succession of pitch wins this year for Yarn, which recently includes securing the HELL pizza account.
