JOLT installs 100th screen amid rapid NZ expansion

JOLT, Australia and New Zealand’s sustainable digital out-of-home and electric vehicle charging network has reached a new milestone, installing its 100th screen in New Zealand following 155% year-on-year network growth and successful media partnerships with a diverse range of client categories.
The milestone highlights JOLT’s rapidly expanding presence in the New Zealand market since launching in late 2022, with screens across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The growth reflects JOLT’s response to market demand for more data-driven campaigns, highlighted by the recent launch of the Spark Intelligence platform enabling smarter planning and buying. Combined with the company’s cross-channel capabilities, which facilitate connections with one-to-one audiences via JOLT’s public EV charging app, and the exponential growth of programmatic advertising, these advancements have solidified JOLT’s position as a preferred channel for advertisers.
Out-of-home continues to thrive in New Zealand, with the Out of Home Association Aotearoa (OOHMAA) reporting that the third quarter of 2024 was the strongest quarterly performance on record for the out-of-home industry in Aotearoa.
”JOLT has made and continues to make significant investment in the digital out-of-home industry in New Zealand, we are very appreciative of the support of the media industry and look forward to being part of the future growth of the category,” said JOLT Country Manager, Chris Monaghan.
JOLT New Zealand Sales Director, Lohnȇt Waugh, said: “To be able to offer 100 panels is an exciting milestone for JOLT as we expand in New Zealand. 2024 was instrumental, defined by our strong commitment to innovation and purpose-built street furniture. At our core, we’re a data-driven company. With Spark Intelligence, we’ve introduced an audience-based platform that redefines planning and buying, setting a new standard for digital out-of-home advertising.
“Our network has expanded 155% this year, reflecting the success of our insight-driven strategy and the broad appeal of JOLT’s audience. Combining the ability to target both broadcast roadside audiences and engaged EV drivers, JOLT screens are strategically positioned to deliver exceptional visibility and impact. This provides advertisers with a premium platform to connect with Kiwis on the move and create impactful brand moments.”
Importantly, JOLT also provides brands with a sustainable advertising solution, having delivered enough clean energy to offset approximately 1,057 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the two yearsー equivalent to planting 17,617 trees for a year, or driving around New Zealand’s coastline 962 times, according to JOLT data.
JOLT continues to experience record growth in both its charging network and advertising partnerships in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK. In 2024, the JOLT digital out-of-home and charger network in Australia grew by 92%. JOLT’s operations in the UK were also recognised in the 2024 Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards, winning best EV Start-Up of the Year and Best New Services (C&I & Public).
In October, JOLT announced the launch of its industry-first data platform, Spark Intelligence, a tool designed to transform how out-of-home media is planned, traded and reported. Spark Intelligence is the first expression of JOLT’s new brand positioning, ‘Spark Change,’ which reflects the company’s journey as a future-facing public utility that is transforming the global EV charging market and the way brands harness digital out-of-home.
JOLT is the only out-of-home company that has access to rich first-party data and is harnessing this to continue to grow its multi-channel advertising offering, with in-app advertising and recently adding video and rich media ads to its suite of mobile advertising products.
JOLT recently appointed Carin Lee-Skelton as General Manager of Regional Sales, ANZ, to further strengthen its commercial partnerships and drive growth across Australia and New Zealand.
