The Comms Council launches 2025 Aotearoa Advertising Industry Census Survey, seeking the support of every person working in the industry

Advertising reflects and informs culture, so to be truly effective, the industry itself needs to be fully representative of all the cultures within which it operates. The Comms Council is launching an industry-wide census survey to measure the current makeup of our workforce, and identify how inclusive we really are.

Says Simon Lendrum, CEO, Comms Council: “We’re asking every industry professional – in agencies large and small, marketing departments, media organisations and production companies – to take 20 minutes to complete the survey. We aim to identify the areas where meaningful action is most needed.

“It’s an opportunity to have your voice heard, tell us how you feel, what’s working, and what isn’t.”

The Comms Council will be sharing the results of the Census in April, building action plans and working groups to work towards an industry that is fully inclusive and ultimately, fully representative of Aotearoa’s rich diversity.
