Get to know the faces behind the camera in Reel Factory’s spotlight series, with director Vince McMillan.

For McMillan, what started as a childhood obsession with movies eventually turned into a full-blown film career, honing his skills as a Director’s Assistant before stepping into editing, screenwriting, and directing.

Proudly hailing from Papakura, McMillan turned his love for his hometown into the hit TV series Kura, which quickly became known as South Auckland’s answer to Outrageous Fortune. He’s also behind TVCs for big names like Z Energy, Air New Zealand and Spark, all while making the most imperfect things look cinematic.
