Lotto NZ Bares it All in Latest ‘Imagine’ Campaign via DDB Aotearoa; Brings Promises and Powerball dreams to life
Lotto New Zealand is back with its highly anticipated seventh instalment of the ‘Powerball Imagine’ campaign via DDB Aotearoa – and this time, things are taking a cheeky turn.
For this edition of the beloved series, DDB Aotearoa leant into the playful humour of the promises we make when we daydream about a big win, without thinking we’d really have to follow through with them.
This new chapter marks a shift in tone and storytelling for the long-running campaign.
Where past films have delivered long-form cinematic drama and emotional twists, from lost tickets to surprise seaside house moves, the 2025 campaign takes a more light-hearted approach to delivering a bolder story grounded in a very Kiwi truth: we all make “if I win Powerball” promises.
In this campaign, one Kiwi follows through on a promise he made to his group of friends – that if he won Powerball, he’d tackle an epic ski run, wearing nothing but his birthday suit. And of course, take them along to witness.
“We’ve all had those ‘what if’ chats,” says Gary Steele, Chief Creative Officer at DDB Aotearoa. “And we loved the idea of what happens when someone takes one of those longed after ideas and makes it a reality. Like a nudie run through the snow, we wanted to make this campaign totally unforgettable.”
Leah Neilson, Lotto New Zealand’s Chief Marketing Officer, said the campaign was an “exciting
shift” from previous narratives: “We know from our research that consumers are seeking more playfulness and humour from brands, so we decided to embrace that, telling a simpler, yet still epic, story that amps up the
fun.
“This campaign is all about celebrating the joy and generosity that comes with dreaming big – and often, the most important part of a win is following through. In a first for Imagine, a wellknown music track from the 90s joins our winner along the journey, so keep your ears peeled!”
The seventh Powerball Imagine campaign aired following Saturday night’s live Lotto draw on TVNZ 1, before launching further afield.

Can you tell me where the wharf store is in the ne lotto add
The store is in Port Waikato on the West Coast of the North Island in New Zealand.
Best advertisement ever love it
Can you tell us where this was filmed love to visit
I knew ghis was Japan straight away, from the vegetation and from the enigmatic smile on the old fella’s face and his glasses, the style of which is typical in Japan for a man in his late 50s onwards. After research, I have found that it is Hakuba (= 白馬 literally White Horse) in Nagano Prefecture (長野県), about 3 hours from Tokyo Station by Shinkansen Bullet Train and local train.
Love this best ever advert. What is the song?
That advert takes me back to when advertising companies back in the eighties pulled out all the stops and made adverts fun, beautiful, memorable, eg Barry Crump and Toyota.
From the start the main character the smile his casual appearance and approach, the location. The sound track the smile on the Japanese man and couple on the mountain watching his ski run, the jump. The end tells you what it is all about, Imagination, buy a Lotto ticket.
You guys and girls will take out best advert 2025, keep them coming! An amazing advertisement.
Can you tell me what ski field this is please.
Please see my comment above. Great advert by the way.
This is my favorite advert. I always stop what I am doing to watch it instead of muting the adverts. The main character eg skier is perfect a typical kiwi bloke. The music is perfect feelings, emotions, the scenery is stunning. Well done 10 out of 10. I am a lotto player and supporter

This is my favourite advert with a perfect musical accompaniment. It always makes me giggle. I’ve sent it to friends in the UK and USA and they all love it. It’ll be hard to beat this one. Great creation guys.
Excellent ad best ever.
This is the worse advert ever, absolutely hate it it’s stupid and discusting. Nudity is not necessary . You should just be showing some one winning lotto
FANTASTIC ADVERT, you guys have nailed it yet again.
I love your lotto ad with the “can do kiwi” flying down the slopes naked on ski’s……..impressive well done production team
I watch it at least once every day. My heart and spirit leap in joy every time. . Whoever that guy is……………… fabulous choice . Love it love it love it. I’m 81 years of age glad to be alive , and thinking about what I can dare to to do just because I want …..even if its crazy. Wont be ski-ing naked down a slope tho…..can’t ski……I laugh every time I see it.
Adore this ad, especially the great music. Well made, congratulations to whoever came up with the concept, AND in no way is the tiddly bit of nudity in any way offensive. That man has a great body.
Loved the nude skier Lotto ad. I love the music and I recognized the shop at Port Waikato. Drove up to the beach by shop on boat many times. I need to watch closer to see if he wore gloves. Encore. Bellisimo. More. That’s allI can say.
