Paul Bradbury Steps Down After Nearly 20 Years with TBWA Australia & New Zealand

After almost 20 years leading TBWA\ across Australia and New Zealand, Paul Bradbury has announced he will step away from his regional leadership role. TBWA\Worldwide has confirmed his decision, marking the close of a defining chapter in the agency’s history in Oceania.

Bradbury’s departure follows Omnicom’s announcement earlier today of the formation of Omnicom Oceania, a new regional leadership structure uniting its creative, media, PR, performance and production capabilities across Australia and New Zealand. The new structure will be led by Nick Garrett, who has been appointed CEO of Omnicom Oceania, reporting directly to global CEO John Wren.

Bradbury’s tenure has been characterised by ambition, reinvention, a steadfast belief in Disruption and the power of creativity to create real impact. As CEO and Regional President, his vision has helped TBWA\ stand out as one of the markets most respected agency groups, consistently contributing to the global collective’s ranking among the world’s most innovative companies, and earning regional recognition including multiple Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencils, Effectiveness accolades and Agency of the Year titles.

Bradbury initially joined Whybin\TBWA\Tequila Sydney as General Manager in 2007, rising quickly through the ranks – promoted to Managing Director in 2008, then CEO of the Sydney group in 2010. In 2014, he was elevated to Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Whybin\TBWA Group Australia and New Zealand, overseeing agencies including Whybin\TBWA, Digital Arts Network (DAN), The Integer Group, ElevenPR and Fleishman Hillard. Following the departure of founder Scott Whybin in 2016, the Whybin name was removed from the brand, and from 2016 to 2025, Bradbury led TBWA\Australia & New Zealand as CEO and Regional President.

Prior to TBWA\, Bradbury held roles at M&C Saatchi, BBH London and McCann Sydney.

Under Bradbury’s leadership, TBWA\ secured and grew significant client partnerships, including Tourism New Zealand, Telstra and Heinz to name a few. His focus on creativity, cultural resonance and strategic clarity helped TBWA\ become the fastest-growing creative agency collective across Australia and New Zealand in the past two years.

Bradbury pioneered new operating structures including ElevenPR, now one of Australia’s most awarded earned PR agencies globally, launched retail agency Fabr\c and production arm Bolt.

As an early advocate for DE&I, Bradbury embedded it into the agency’s core, well before it became industry standard. That same long-term investment in his teams and talent is reflected in the leadership bench he leaves behind. Under their watch, TBWA\ is poised for its next wave of growth.

“For almost two decades, Paul built trust and respect with some of the country’s most accomplished marketers, resulting in long term partnerships within a highly competitive pitch environment. He led with the kind of creative ambition that left a mark on the industry, and the agency he helped define,” says Troy Ruhanen, Global CEO, Omnicom Advertising Group.

Adds Ruhanen: “We thank Paul for the value he has created not just for TBWA\Australia and New Zealand, but the wider TBWA collective, and we wish him all the very best.”

Says Adrian Paul, COO, TBWA\Australia: “Working alongside Paul for almost two decades has been a rare and enduring partnership, built on his unwavering vision and integrity, both as a leader and a person. That has always been his guiding force, and it’s what will continue to shape our culture well into the future.”

Says Bradbury: “Having worked at TBWA\ for nearly 20 years, this step feels like a natural progression. I’ve had the privilege of building something very special, with brilliant people by my side. I’m incredibly proud of the culture we’ve shaped, one built on generosity, creative hunger and a deep belief in Disruption.”
