Fathom officially launches Kingsland VFX facility

Fathom has officially opened the doors to its purpose built facility in Kingsland, Auckland NZ. With over 50 Years combined experience in the NZ screen industry, Damon Duncan and Rhys Dippie have built a VFX Studio to service their clients in an environment that they would be happy to have their mums in.
Fathom boasts three high-end suites for colour, online, and editing, complete with breakout and production spaces. Backed by an award-winning VFX team, Fathom is unleashing hell on good briefs with a keen eye for realism, supported by years of high-level problem-solving expertise.
With the recent addition of Richard Betts as Head of 2D, Fathom expands its online offering and adds years of experience in creative leadership across longform and commercial projects.
Says Duncan: “We have been friends with Richard forever, and having him join our team has been amazing. We canʼt wait to get stuck into some tricky creative and technological challenges with him.ˮ
You can see Richardʼs work here.
Fathom recently completed a series of long-form projects, serving as the primary VFX vendor for Disney’s Zombies 4 and crafting a 3D car chase sequence for M3gan 2.0. Additionally, the team managed to fit in a cheeky Christmas spot “Humbug” for MOFA and Myers, preceded by the award winning and poignant film “The Lost Voice” for Taika Waititi and Apple.
