La Trobe University partners with Anchora as consultancy marks four year milestone

Independent marketing technology and AI consultancy Anchora is marking its fourth anniversary with a major client addition – La Trobe University – reinforcing its momentum across the APAC region.

Work with La Trobe University kicked off this month, supporting a major digital transformation initiative focused on improving student acquisition and experience. The partnership includes the development of a first-party data strategy and Customer Data Platform (CDP), aimed at reducing reliance on third-party data and delivering more personalised engagement across digital channels.

Anchora is also helping the University to establish a unified view of prospective students, build scalable personalisation capabilities and strengthen data governance to support both compliance and marketing performance.

Luke Evans, CEO and Founder of Anchora says: “When we launched Anchora, we set out to prove that a lean, expert team could deliver complex transformation projects without the overhead of traditional consultancies. In a market dominated by large firms, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see our model resonate.

“Securing partnerships with organisations like La Trobe University is a big moment for us – not just because of their scale, but because they represent the kind of forward-thinking teams we love working with. It’s a clear signal that businesses want genuine expertise, agility, and results.”

Founded in 2021, Anchora has quickly earned a reputation for delivering business outcomes at pace. Initially focused on Adobe platforms, the consultancy has evolved to help clients unlock smarter, faster experiences through broader marketing technology, AI and strategic consulting

Anchora’s growth is reflected in its recent client wins – Malaysia Airlines, Spark NZ, and CommSec – and standout results for Auckland Airport, including a 72% lift in automation-led revenue and a fivefold increase in conversion rates. The consultancy has also invested in developing proprietary delivery tools – Stitch, KMD!, and LIFT – designed to help clients fast-track transformation across platforms and industries.

“We’ve gone from startup to serious player in just a few years,” said Susie Evans, Co-Founder and Finance & Operations Manager. “This anniversary isn’t just a milestone – it’s a reflection of the momentum we’ve built and the trust brands are placing in us to help them transform.”

With a 50+ strong team across Australia, New Zealand, India and Southeast Asia, Anchora is also advancing its diversity and inclusion commitments. The consultancy is tracking toward 40% marginalised gender representation by 2026, is equal-majority female owned and its team spans 11 cultural backgrounds.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built here at Anchora – not just in terms of growth, but the team behind it,” added Max Barraass, Chief Innovation Officer and Co-Founder. “We’ve delivered complex transformation projects, grown into new markets and built trusted partnerships with some of the region’s most respected brands. As we scale, we’ll stay focused on impact, pace and delivering results for our clients.”

The momentum hasn’t gone unnoticed. Anchora was recently named Adobe Emerging Solution Partner of the Year for APAC and ANZ (2025) and took home the 2024 Strategic Collaboration Solution Partner of the Year award. The consultancy is also a finalist for Mumbrella’s Specialist Agency of the Year, to be announced later this month.

Anchora will round out its birthday month with the launch of a new initiative, Anchora Say Relax – a playful spin on the 80s pop culture catchphrase – designed to thank long-standing clients and give prospective partners a feel for Anchora’s working style.
