Meridian Energy turns sunshine into wine in next chapter of its ‘New Energy’ campaign via 81
Meridian Energy and 81 have released the next chapter of their creative platform New Energy, showing how a solar setup provided by Meridian is powering Grove Mill Winery’s sustainability journey.
Meridian launched the creative platform back in June 2025, demonstrating how it has helped community groups and customers access solar, battery and EV technology.
The latest instalment once again shows how Meridian amplifies the special energy that Kiwis bring to their mahi. The spotlight this time is on their business customer, Grove Mill Winery and their chief winemaker Stu Marfell.
Grove Mill has a legacy of producing sustainable wine in the Wairau Valley under the guidance of Stu. But his day to day isn’t just about crafting award winning wines – it also includes caring for neighbouring native wetlands, managing renewable packaging and keeping the team energised and caffeinated. With Meridian’s solar expertise, the same sun that ripens the grapes outside now also helps run the production line through a Meridian solar setup. The result is another step forward in Grove Mill’s sustainability journey.
Says Rhys Musson, Brand Lead at Meridian Energy: “As much as we love talking about electricity, it’s what our customers do with it that matters. Stu and the team at Grove Mill are crafting award winning wine in a beautiful part of the world as sustainably as they can. We’re stoked to add just a bit of extra energy to their mahi.”
The campaign has launched nationwide running across TV, OOH and social.
