BAFTA and Cannes Lions Grand Prix-winning duo Smith & Foulkes sign with SEDONA Productions in Australia and New Zealand
Australian production company SEDONA has announced the signing of acclaimed directing duo Alan Smith and Adam Foulkes, known collectively as Smith & Foulkes for commercial representation across Australia and New Zealand.
The addition to SEDONA’s distinctive roster of filmmakers supports one of the most celebrated directing partnerships in commercial filmmaking to the region.
Moving seamlessly between commercial and independent filmmaking, the pair has become renowned for their ability to blend imaginative storytelling with technical virtuosity. Their landmark film, Honda Grrr won Black Pencils at the D&AD Awards, the Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and was named by ADweek as the Ad of the Decade. Since then, their work has earned an Annie, a BAFTA, an Oscar nomination and a multitude of Arrows.
Says Smith & Foulkes: “Everything begins with the story. Once that’s right, the technique tends to reveal itself. We love building worlds and characters that feel surprising and entertaining. Ideally with a few silly gags along the way.”
Says Kim Wildenburg, Founder of SEDONA: “Alan and Adam are masters of imaginative storytelling. Their films are playful, inventive and meticulously crafted. They create the type of work that lodges itself in culture, much like their second collaboration with Bear Meets Eagle on Fire for Telstra via our friends at Riff Raff, London.”
Smith & Foulkes joining SEDONA Productions for representation reinforces the company’s commitment to producing memorable, entertaining craft-led stories for brands and agencies across Australia and New Zealand. To view Smith & Foulkes work visit: https://sedona.com.au/directors/smith-foulkes
