Refresh Renovations taps Auckland PR agency Impact PR to support global growth

Residential renovation firm Refresh Renovations has appointed Auckland PR agency Impact PR as it moves to increase its share of the global home renovation market.

The New Zealand-based company, which has over 170 franchised operations across North America, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, has grown to become one of the largest full- service renovation brands in the world.

Says Jon Bridge, the founder and director of Refresh Renovations, says the company which generates annual revenue over $100 million is aiming to reach $1 billion in sales within the next decade – growing export revenue from 20% to 80% over this period.

Mark Devlin, Impact PR director, says they will design and implement a public relations strategy to help build awareness of the renovation company in domestic and international markets.

He says the appointment is well aligned with their work experience in commercial, industrial and residential property development space as well: “Refresh Renovations is one of the many Kiwi export success stories that has been flying under the radar for too long.

“What was started by building industry consultants from strategy firm Traffic to address systemic inefficiencies in the sector, has emerged as a global leader in its field.

“They are looking to bring a new level of scale and organisation to a renovation market that is fragmented, combative, and price-driven, lacking a focus on process or customer experience.

“We believe there is a significant opportunity to leverage their story of innovation and disruption and help support the next stages of their expansion.”

Bridge says they have identified various niches and established multiple specialised brands in the residential market to address consumer needs, including Refresh Renovations, Zones Landscaping, Oncore Services, and We Sort It.

He says they are also launching Planfirst, a franchise system for architectural and design specialists: “The next stage of our business expansion programme will see us grow our presence in the US market, particularly Texas.

“We are also looking to expand our model to include property and tenant management services in the UK.

“A public relations strategy designed to help build our awareness and credibility in these new and existing markets is critical to helping to establish trust with franchisees and their customers.”

Bridge says there is considerable export potential for their service, particularly in the US, where the renovation market is around $570 billion annually compared to $9 billion in New Zealand and they will continue to invest in marketing to support the development of their brand equity in the coming years.
