The Marketing Club flips the conference script with launch of Marketers Day held Mon 20 Oct

The Marketing Club (TMC) is flipping the script on traditional conferences with the launch of Marketers Day, a high-energy grassroots festival built by marketers for marketers to celebrate the ideas, people and impact that shape Aotearoa’s marketing industry.

Taking place on Monday 20 October at ASB Bank’s Wynyard Quarter headquarters, the event will bring together more than 100 marketers, founders and creatives for a full day of big ideas, bold conversations, a standout line-up of speakers, hands-on activations and the kind of community connection TMC is known for.

Marketers Day ditches the stiff conference format in favour of something festival-like: speakers who have built brands from scratch, led cultural moments and navigated the messy middle of real-world campaigns. With a programme spanning creativity, strategy, tech and leadership, it promises inspiration you can feel, lessons you can use tomorrow and connections that go beyond business cards – all delivered with the grassroots energy and celebratory vibe that defines TMC.

Sessions includes:

• Creativity & Brand Building – Simon Pound (Previously Unavailable), Shyr Godfrey (Forty Thieves), Fiona Cortis (BLUNT), Hamish Russell (ASB), Tom Horton (Phantom Billstickers)
• The Future of Marketing – Dan Xu PhD (ElementX), Gau Kurman (SupaHuman AI), Michaela Egbers (Ideally), Chanel Clark (The Marketing Club) and Sam Brough (Tracksuit)
• Real-World Strategy & Execution – Clive Antony (Antony & Mates), Julian Thompson (Mosh), Kamran Kazalbash (One New Zealand), Susie Thomson-Evans (Clear Hayes), Maria Skatova (InternetNZ)
• Career, Connection & Leadership – Cassie Roma (First Movers Media), Chris Asahara (The Postmasters), Lisa Young (HRHQ), Diana Sharma (Mission Ready), Sindy Ward (Hunter Campbell)

Says Chanel Clark, Founder of TMC: “Marketers Day isn’t another conference, it’s a celebration. We built this to feel different: accessible, energising and useful. It’s not about suits and slides, it’s about real people sharing what they’ve learned, sparking ideas and lifting each other up.

“Attendees will get to hear from some of the most exciting brands and consultancies in Aotearoa and beyond, and absorb insights they can put into practice straight away. That’s what our community has always been about, and now it finally has a day of its own.”

Says Fiona Cortis, Head of Marketing – BLUNT Umbrella’s: “I’m a creative and a brand builder through and through, it’s what I’m passionate about and I’m excited to share my experience and journey and connect with the up and coming marketeers in NZ.”

Says Kamran Kazalbash, Brand Lead at OneNZ: I’m really excited to see everyone at the first Marketers Day and to share the story and the strategy behind our Finding Jade campaign. I’ll share how we got to where we are now and how we ensure that our brand strategy comes to life in everything we do.

In just three years, TMC has grown to a 13,000-strong community across New Zealand and Australia. Marketers Day is its boldest move yet, proof that a grassroots bootstrapped community can create a must-attend industry moment built on openness, energy and connection.

With tickets set at half the price of other major industry events, the day has been deliberately designed to stay accessible to the wider marketing community supported by the generous backing of Flight Coffee, No Ugly, Human Digital, Forty Thieves, Anew, Petes Natural, Infinity Sleep, Apparel Merch Co, Clear Hayes, Entegy, Notion, Phantom Billstickers, Swisse, Brandspec, Mosh, Raglan Food Co, Barkers, Yum NZ, GreenAir, Paneton, Digital Refinery, Rocketspark, InternetNZ, Hunter Campbell, Keerti Siag Photography, MC Media, Backkr.
