Away We Go ~ Matike Mai named Pacific affiliate of new global sports marketing agency Local Action Marketing

Auckland-based agency Away We Go ~ Matike Mai has been appointed the official Pacific affiliate of Local Action Marketing (LAM) — a new global sports marketing agency launched last week in Los Angeles.

 

Founded in late 2022, Away We Go ~ Matike Mai specialises in commercial, sponsorship, brand, marketing and activation services, with a client roster that includes Triathlon NZ, Surfing NZ, and NZ Rugby League. Following strong growth, the agency recently extended its offering to Australia and the Pacific.

As one of eight regional affiliates announced by LAM, the agency joins a worldwide network spanning the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, anchored by a Los Angeles-based team of more than 25 senior leaders and industry experts.

LAM has been established to help sports, brands and government agencies navigate and capitalise on Los Angeles’ major sporting and cultural events, including the lead-up to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. It is a fully accredited provider to the LA28 Local Organising Committee, the City of Los Angeles and other key event organisers.

From today, Away We Go ~ Matike Mai will operate under a dual brand: Local Action Marketing Pacific (LAM Pacific). The unit will focus on connecting Pacific-based clients to global major-event opportunities in Los Angeles, while also serving as a trusted delivery partner for international clients activating in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and the wider Pacific.

Rachel Froggatt, CEO of Away We Go ~ Matike Mai, said the affiliation opens new doors for Pacific organisations: “Many Pacific-based sports bodies, brands and government agencies want to be part of what’s happening in Los Angeles, but they don’t always know where to start. It’s an incredibly busy, expensive and complex marketplace, and without trusted networks, it can be daunting.

“Local Action Marketing Pacific is designed to be a low-cost, low-complexity partner, drawing on both local and global expertise to provide end-to-end support.”

LAM’s service offering in Los Angeles spans strategic planning, event and guest-experience production, location scouting, hospitality and transport logistics, legal compliance, content creation, PR, design and social media. The Pacific affiliate will provide regional expertise across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific — whether acting on behalf of clients in LA, enabling them to work directly with the LA-based team, or delivering projects locally for international brands.
