Mango / DDB Group takes out coveted Grand Prix at 2025 Pressie Awards for Samsung ‘Worst Children’s Library’; Special PR scoops six Gold
Mango Communications / DDB Group has taken out the coveted Grand Prix at this year’s Pressie Awards for Samsung ‘Worst Children’s Library’ hosted this evening at the stunning Ōkahu Bay.
The win marks the third time Mango has won the supreme award. The campaign also collected Gold for Experiential, Gold for Strategic Thinking, and Silver for Best Creative PR Campaign.
The powerful initiative, created in partnership with DDB Group Aotearoa agency Tribal, and client Samsung, transformed a school library into a confronting real-world representation of the online harm children encounter. Designed to raise awareness and equip parents with digital safety tools through Safe Surfer, The Worst Children’s Library sparked national conversation and international attention.
Chloe Leuschke, Managing Partner of Mango Communications, says she couldn’t be prouder of the campaign, both as a mum and PR professional: “The team took a challenging issue for parents and created a powerful tool to educate on the scale of harmful content online and how detrimental it is. So much hard work went into this campaign and we’re thrilled to have it recognised.”
Overall, Special PR led the Gold count this year with six wins plus the Highly Commended award for KFCurrency.
Mango Communications / DDB Group and Pead Limited with its affiliates Ba and Ballyhoo picked up three Golds. Eleven PR / TBWA scored two Golds, while and Acumen, BcgCrave & Rainmakers, and Hearts & Science / The Insiders each claimed one Gold apiece.
The Young Practitioner of the Year award went to Jord Webb McRae at Hearts & Science.
Sean Brown, this year’s Convenor of judges, shared his thoughts stating: “The entries this year were stronger than ever. It’s fantastic to see the industry thriving and pumping out so many creative and effective world-class campaigns.”
