Comms Council names WPP Media’s Emily Scovell Media Committee Chair
The Comms Council has announced the appointment of Emily Scovell, Chief Strategy Officer for WPP Media, as the new Chair of the Comms Council Media Committee.
Scovell takes the reins from Rufus Chuter, Founder of Together, who led the Committee from 2023 until the end of 2025.
The Media Committee is responsible for representing the interests and needs of media agencies in order to help create a sustainable, profitable and respected media agency environment. The committee is currently focused on specific challenges in the areas of eminence, commerciality, and measurement.

Says Scovell: “It’s a privilege to build on the strong foundation Rufus has created for the Media Committee. My focus as Chair is to ensure we remain aligned on our key pillars of eminence, commercial sustainability, and measurement, where our collective clout is most powerful. By finding our unified voice, we can continue to prove the undeniable value that media agencies contribute to the business landscape in Aotearoa.”
