Creative live-streams herself camping out in the bush for 24 hours to get you voting for the Webby-nominated KathScan
Liza Plyshevsky, with the help of her creative partner Tab Eady, is taking Kathmandu’s recent Out of Your Comfort Zone campaign literally, by camping out in the post-cyclone-strewn bush of NZ to get people voting for KathScan to win at the 2026 Webby Awards.
KathScan, born from the fury of pulling out invasive plants on a summer job, was created by Liza Plyshevsky and Jae Kim. Last year, it won a Gold Award for Innovative use of AI in the Environmental and Sustainability category at the 2025 Anthem Awards in New York. Now it’s returning to the New York award spotlight with its nomination for a People’s Voice Award at the 2026 Webby Awards in the Advertising & PR Student category.
But coming from a relatively people-less country in the South Pacific, we need as many people voting as possible. So, at midday on Monday, Liza starts live streaming for 24 hours.
The more people vote for Kathscan here: https://vote.webbyawards.com/PublicVoting the more creature comforts and camping gear Liza receives.
Here’s how it’s going to work:
5 votes = coffee
10 votes = umbrella
15 votes = tent
20 votes = noodles
25 votes = camp chair
30 votes = sleeping bag
35 votes = torch
40 votes = air mattress
50 votes = voters’ pick
100 votes = full glamping upgrade
250 votes = freedom
Tune into the live stream at 12pm NZT Monday here and comment to see what happens, and Liza will be waiting and, hopefully, surviving what hopefully promises to be, with your voting, a not-so-sodden experience.
