Oktober.pngOktobor is shifting resources out of post production and into its fast growing animation arm, Oktobor Animation, which means it will no longer beoffering TVC and VFX services to the advertising and commercials market on aday-to-day basis.

Oktobor Group managing director, Bruce Everett said, as a company they have made thestrategic decision to fully commit the business to the continued growth of Oktobor Animation: “Since its inception in May 2010 we have invested millions of dollars into the animationbusiness, employed over 120 new crew and I’m glad to say Oktobor Animation is goingfrom strength to strength,” he said.

“As part of Oktobor’s focus on CG long-form animation, we will be transferring some of the resources out of our traditional TVC and VFX business across to Oktobor Animation and will no longer offer those services to the advertising and commercials market on a day-to-day basis.

Given the amazing work created by our talented commercials team over the last few years, it is with some sadness that we move out of TVC post-production.”

However a small core administrative team will remain at Oktobor, he added, as, with its central Auckland location and strong technical infrastructure, they are in a great positionto support previous staff, freelancers and boutique creative shops by offering dry-hire facilities as well as the 400m2 sound stage at 105 Cook St.

“With the success of Oktobor Animation to build upon and the constant challenge ofever-shrinking budgets in the advertising market, this strategic refocusing ofour business is the best way to move the company forward and ensure a solidfuture for Oktobor and its staff.”

Oktobor andOktobor Animation continue to be based out of their Sale Street HQ and further announcements on Oktobor Animation’s continued growth are expected in the nearfuture.
