bcg2 wins two new accounts Kingdom of Tonga Tourism and Pfizer New Zealand Avigra
bcg2 has won the Tongan tourism account after a rigourous three month international pitch that saw the final two agencies present in Nuku’alofa to over 20 industry representatives. The win involves completely re-branding Tonga as a tourism destination, advertising, PR, joint ventures with travel industry and airline partners and raising Tonga’s profile in the digital space to reach potential visitors in key international markets.
‘We’re on a roll right now’ says Michael Jarvis bcg2 managing director, ‘a win like this matters because it shows how a local indie with access into a global network can deliver great ideas for a client who wants world class thinking. As our fifth new business win since November, four of them in pitches, we’re very pleased with how this year is tracking.’
Tonga’s Ministry of Tourism received 8 responses from agencies in NewZealand, Australia and Tonga for the account which was previously heldby an Australian agency. The two finalists presenting in Tonga includedClemenger BBDO with the final decision debated and agreed by TonganGovernment and tourism industry stakeholders.
‘We are veryexcited about the appointment of such a creative and forward thinkingagency’, says Tongan Tourism Ministry CEO Sakopo Lolohea. ‘We lookforward to working with them over the next few months on the crucialdevelopment of a brand which will represent the kingdom’s tourismofferings in an increasingly competitive global market.’
The re-launch of tourism activity for the Kingdom of Tonga is anticipated for the third quarter of 2011.
bcg2Healthcare has also picked up the launch of Avigra, from Viagra accountincumbents M&C Saatchi. Avigra is the new brand for Pfizer’s”little blue pill”, to compete against a raft of expected generic brandcompetitors. ‘The business was awarded without a pitch’, says bcg2Healthcare General Manager Stuart Ogden. “It’s quite an honour to beawarded the account for arguably, the world’s most recognisablepharmaceutical pill. We’re looking forward to taking the new brand in adifferent direction.”
