The Sweet Shop’s ‘Meathead’ selected for 62nd Berlin 2012 International Film Festival
Sam Holst’s short film Meathead has been selected to screen at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival 2012.
The film will feature in the Generation programme where it will compete for the Crystal Bear.
This selection follows the premiere of Meathead in competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival in 2011, where it was one of only nine films chosen from around the world.
Meathead – the story of a teenager’s first day on the job at a local meat works – was funded through New Zealand Film Commission’s Premiere Shorts, produced by Stanstrong Productions and executive produced by Big Shorts and Eyeworks in association with The Sweet Shop Films.
According to The Sweet Shop Film’s CEO, Paul Prince, Meathead represents the company’s commitment to high-craft work and great storytelling on any platform.
Says Prince: “We’re proud to support Sam’s success and are thrilled to see continued recognition of Meathead around the world.”
